Concrete Engraving Machine – CNC Pro

Owner & Operator Safety

Running the CNC Pro safely

Engraving concrete and stone is safe work when you take a few basic precautions. Here are the main hazards and how to handle them. This is a summary — always follow the owner manual, your training and OSHA’s rules.

Silica dust

Cutting concrete, stone and pavers releases crystalline silica dust, which can cause serious, permanent lung disease over time. Always control it:

  • Keep the surface wet while cutting, or use a dust-collecting vacuum.
  • Wear a properly fitted respirator rated for silica (N95 or better) whenever dust is present.
  • If you have employees, OSHA’s respirable crystalline silica standard applies — you may need to measure exposure and provide respirators and training.

Eyes & hearing

  • Wear impact-rated safety glasses — engraving throws chips and slurry.
  • Wear hearing protection during extended cutting.

The router & moving gantry

  • The bit is sharp and spins at high speed — keep hands, cords and clothing clear while it runs.
  • The gantry moves on its own under machine control. Keep fingers out of its path and never reach into the work area during a job.
  • Unplug the machine before changing bits or clearing a jam.

Electricity & water

  • Plug into a properly grounded outlet. On job sites, follow OSHA’s ground-fault protection rules for 120V power.
  • Fine-detail bits run wet — keep water away from the controller, the laptop and all electrical connections, and never let the machine sit in standing water.
  • If an outlet or breaker trips, stop and contact support before continuing. Never bypass a protective device.

Lifting & transport

  • The machine packs into a rolling case weighing about 114 lb. Use the wheels, get a hand loading it into a vehicle, and lift with your legs.

Keep bystanders clear

  • Set up a work zone and keep people, pets and traffic away from the machine, the dust and the cords while it runs.

Before every job

  • Confirm the surface is cured and solid.
  • Set up dust control and put on eye, hearing and breathing protection.
  • Check the power source and cords.
  • Clear the work area of bystanders.
