8. Specifier notes
- Engraving is performed on existing, cured substrate — no demolition, forming or new pour.
- Recesses can be left natural, pigmented, or filled with epoxy / polyaspartic inlay for contrast and wear resistance.
- Blast mask or painter’s tape is used on porous substrates to control bleed-over when filling.
- For jobs larger than the envelope, datum points are set per tile; a “ghost pass” is run at a raised Z to verify alignment before cutting.
- Allow clearance above the surface for the gantry to pass over raised edges (e.g., pavers set proud of grade).
- Operator needs line power within the 15 ft lead, or a 2,000 W generator.
